The third and last session in our AI and the Law Series. The genocide in Myanmar was driven by Facebook. The South Carolina church shooter was radicalized through Google searches. While algorithmic injustice is often portrayed as an unexpected outcome of an otherwise well-functioning product, the negative impacts of AI have been researched extensively and are often very predictable. In this session we will discuss some of the research that underpins many of the regulations, rules, and policies currently under consideration across the world.

The second session of our AI and the Law CLE Series. Artificial Intelligence is front of mind for our corporate clients. It touches a diversity of areas - from HR, to data privacy, and environmental goals. AI is also becoming deeply embedded in our clients' day-to-day lives. We will discuss things to consider in litigation concerning these technologies, key areas of concern for your clients, and how the impact of AI will change the way we service them.

The first session of the AI and the Law CLE Series. While there is a proliferation of AI tools in the legal space, there are no state or federal licensing schemes for the technology. In this session we will:

• Provide tips for determining if AI is the proper tool for the intended purpose

• Discuss the risks of using AI for legal research, drafting, and litigation assistance

• Discuss the liability lawyers face when AI tools go rogue

We will also provide questions to ask and ways to be involved in the conversation on the role of AI in the legal profession.

A wide ranging discussion on AI ethics from an AI ethics 101 perspective, with a specific focus on the institutional, economic, and equity impacts of AI technology.

In this talk, I'll lay the groundwork for the need for general AI literacy and discuss how everyday citizens can be involved in ensuring ethical AI across various industries. Through this discussion, we'll generate momentum for the everyday activist movement, empowering all citizens to feel comfortable advocating for, and engaging in discussions on the use of AI technology in their lives, jobs, and communities.
